Beautiful and soft hands look young and well-groomed. But the frequent and many times excessive hand washing, the use of antiseptics and the contact of the skin with cleaning products leads to their dehydration and cracking.
There are of course other factors that affect the hydration of the hands and lead to dryness, such as extreme temperatures. For this reason, it is essential to have a hand cream with glycerin.
In fact, there are cases where the dehydration of the skin and the destruction of the surface (hydrolipid) barrier on the hands may even cause eczema. This usually results in the hands peeling, having red marks or sores and feeling itchy. This atopic dermatitis can be cured if there is timely treatment with moisturizing agents.
Next you will find 3 homemade and easy recipes for natural cream for dry and dehydrated hands.

A very moisturizing and at the same time ideal cream for getting rid of brown spots and sores on the hands that you can easily make is the following recipe.
Glycerin acts as a moisturizing and anti-aging agent, while lemon helps to treat skin discolorations. At the same time, olive oil or almond oil deeply moisturizes the skin and keeps it soft and supple.
Be careful, however, due to the presence of lemon in the composition of this particular hand cream-lotion, it should only be used at night, because vitamin C causes photosensitivity and may cause freckles and discoloration if you go out in the sun after applying it.
You will need:
- 1 teaspoon of glycerin
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil (you can replace it with almond oil)
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Method of preparation & application: Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them well until you get a uniform lotion. Use this homemade recipe as you would any hand cream and you will soon see its beneficial effects on chapped and dehydrated hands.

In fact, if you want, you can combine more than one essential oil and benefit equally from their benefits for the skin.
Beneficial properties of glycerine hand cream ingredients
The natural soap acts as an emulsifier to hold the water and oil based ingredients together. Choose a pure soap, because the purer it is, the more effective retention it offers.
Beeswax creates the protective barrier on the skin that we need from a good and moisturizing hand cream. It holds the moisture inside the skin and prevents its dehydration.
Aloe gel moisturizes the skin, while at the same time its antioxidants help to improve the skin’s natural firmness.
Glycerin treats dryness, softens the skin and moisturizes it.
Vitamin E protects the skin from the damage of solar radiation and offers an anti-aging effect to the cream.
Finally, nourishing almond oil is ideal for dehydrated hands and absorbs better than other thicker oils such as olive oil.
