How to Remove Stains from Easter Egg Dye!

The key to successful stain removal is to deal with them as soon as possible.

  1. Use a dry, white absorbent paper to remove as much liquid as possible. Wipe from the outer edges to the center to prevent the egg dye stain from spreading over a larger area of the garment or fabric.
  2. When no more dye is transferred to the absorbent paper, mix only 1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in 1 cup of warm water. Dip a clean white towel or absorbent paper into the solution and wipe the stain from the outer edges to the center.
  3. Continue cleaning the garment until you have removed the egg dye stain and no more dye is transferred to the paper or white towel.
  4. Dip a white towel in clean water and after wringing it out thoroughly, rinse the solution from the garment or fabric. If you don’t rinse, the dish detergent can attract more stains.
  5. Rinse the garment or fabric with plenty of clean water and let it dry in the sun if possible.

If the egg dye stain on the clothes remains, try mixing ammonia with water (one tablespoon per cup of cool water).

Allow the garment to soak and then use regular detergent to wash the garment.

If the egg dye stain on the clothes has not been removed, do not put the garment in the dryer as there is a risk of it becoming permanent.
